We got mail!

Today our first piece of mail was hand delivered to our door!  We haven't opened it yet, because it's a card for Gabriel's birthday (Sunday).  However, just receiving it was big fun for all of us!

Visas Successfully Renewed!

Yesterday our family traveled by bus to Managua to renew our visitor's visas.  We got to look around at a local market, visit a mall where the immigration office was located, and eat some delicious food out for lunch and dinner.  We met a missionary couple in line at the immigration office and enjoyed learning about their ministry in eastern Nicaragua with Bible Baptist Fellowship.  Thank you God for guiding us every step of the way during our trip, keeping us safe, and giving us a fun time together as a family!

Eating familiar food in the Managua mall food court.  MMMmmmmmm.

Christmas decorations visible from the mall

We were sure to pray over this meal of cabbage, plantains, and chicken?
purchased on the street at the bus "station" and eaten with our dirty hands!

Playing games with Google translate

One night this past week Kenia and Teresa came over to visit.  We enjoyed a game of Wits and Wagers, with the help of Google Translate and then ate hot dogs.  Thanks for coming girls!

Everybody Loves Church Picnics

Last Sunday our family got to attend a church picnic with the Good News Church in Chichigalpa.  They picked us up in a loaded school bus and we traveled to a nearby farm to play, worship, and eat together.  Thank you God for the sweet fellowship with other believers!

On the way to the picnic!

We gathered for singing and devotions.  Michael spoke from
John 5, about the sin of pride.

Jacob and Julio were in charge of sound.  They did
an awesome job!

Some of the games included sack races,

a pinata,

and tug of war!

A New Respect for Scorpions

Michael did survive the scorpion sting.  He experienced numbness in his arms, legs, and lips.  After some good rest, he was as good as new by the evening.  Thank you for your prayers!

Dadgummit!

Dang, that hurt!  I (Michael) got stung by this critter this morning as I was pulling out some laundry from the dirty clothes pile.  Hurt like a wasp sting for half an hour and now my lips are tingling and I have a copper taste in my mouth!  We'll let everyone know later if I die or not.
