We Are In Nicaragua!!!

We Made It To Nicaragua!  


Thank you so much for your prayers because they are being answered for certain.  We had a wonderfully uneventful trip here, everything went smoothly and quickly and without extra expenses.  We have contracted for 6 months on a house right in the city which is great for access to stores and such.  The only downside is that it's about 2 or 3 kilometers to the mission which will make transportation back and forth a little difficult and expensive.  We definitely need to purchase a vehicle quickly to solve this issue.  Please be praying for that.  Otherwise, on Wednesday we will move into the new house and sleep on mattresses on the floor and we will have the refrigerator, washing machine, and stove oven delivered also.  We still don't have a phone and internet of our own but hopefully by the end of the week we'll be set up.

The people are so wonderful here and have been nothing except courteous, helpful, forbearing, and  overall beautiful.  The weather is incredibly hot and muggy with temperatures in the mid to high 90's that is unrelenting until late in the evening.  We have many adjustments to make but everyone is doing so with fantastic attitudes.  Our children are loving playing with the many many children who frequent the mission property from morning until evening.  Baseball has been an immediate common ground for Gabriel and Jacob, the other boys and adults.  Christina and Abigail have made countless girlfriends and their names are called throughout the day to come and play.

The Lord has continued to provide energy and endurance for us through these three long days since this journey began.  We call upon His name throughout the days and He continues to sustain us - Praise The Lord!  Thank you for your continued prayers as we adjust to this new culture and lifestyle.  There will be days of difficulty and stress and we must trust in Him!

Departure !!!

Hello Friends and Family,

 

We thank you so much for your valued prayers and encouragement to us over the past 10 months of our time back in the U.S.  God has continued to answer our prayers throughout this year and during our time in Kenya.  It's been truly amazing to see how the Lord has worked in our lives to introduce us to new brothers and sisters in Christ around the country as we've followed His lead.

 

Now we are ready to embark on the next great journey as we walk by FAITH in Christ Jesus to the country of Nicaragua!  We are so very excited to begin this next phase and we hope that you also are ready to see what God will do.

 

We will be flying out of Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, August 18th and should arrive to our new home around midnight.  Please pray particularly for us during our travels and as we settle in the first few days of next week.  Especially for the kids, the beginning experience can often set our attitudes and outlooks for the long haul.  We need to focus on the Lord and not ourselves, our comforts, and anxieties!

If you have yet to sign up on our prayer partner calendar, we are still looking to fill the following days: 12th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 28th, and 30th. It would be a shame if we didn't have our Christian family lifting us up every day as we serve the Lord so please help us cover these remaining slots.

 

Also as we leave to be on mission, we have yet to establish a complete base of financial supporters to cover our expected budget.  We firmly believe that our Lord will provide as needed and usually that comes through our church family.  We invite you to consider being a part of His plans to supply for our family’s financial needs.  If you would feel led to contribute to our ministry financially, you can make a tax deductible donation through our partner organization listed below.  Thank you for prayerfully considering supporting us in this way!

Visit with Sandy Ridge Baptist Church

This past Sunday, we had the pleasure to spend the morning worship services with our new friends at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory, NC.  It was a tremendous blessing to be with fellow believers who welcomed us richly into their fellowship.  Thank you so much Pastor John Whaley for your invitation and thank you to everyone who agreed to become monthly prayer partners with us.  We truly do covet your prayers and we can't wait to see how God may use your church in HIS ministry to Nicaragua!

Departure Date - August 16th

We have a departure date !  On August 16th we plan to fly from Atlanta to Managua to begin our next journey following the Lord's call to spread the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ.  Please be in prayer with us as we make those final preparations and step out in FAITH.

Kentucky Mission

We're so excited to be able to serve the Lord in a foreign land!  But just as much, we're seeing needs right here in the U.S.  Beginning Saturday, our family is participating with Jackson First Baptist Church in a domestic mission trip to assist a community in SE Kentucky.  We'll let you know more about that as it happens!
